As our readers have no doubt observed, our friend “kitten” is, for all intents and purposes, a beaver. A recent victim of urban sprawl, he has been forced to flee his childhood home to make way for what will eventually become the world’s largest shopping center.  He’s currently posing as a kitten in order to live the good life of a house pet.  It’s not the most convincing disguise, but he’s working on it.

Gruff and grumpy, “poodle” is a champion show dog, proud winner of more trophies than he can count.  Though he’s getting on in years and is somewhat past his prime, he’s pampered and coddled as any poodle worth it’s pedigree should be.  For some odd reason, poodle seems to tolerate the presence of this kitten impostor, while almost any other dog would be tearing him to bits.  What strange bond do these two
creatures share?

The owner of these two pets, Pam remains a bit of an enigma. Where does she work? What does she look like? And how on earth has she not noticed something seriously wrong with her cat?

Ian Ross has owned a hamster, three cats, a dog, a goldfish, and a cockatiel.  To the best of his knowledge he has never owned a poodle or willingly shared his home with endangered woodland creatures.  Ian lives and works out of Seattle, Washington.
